ABOUT TONY’S DI NAPOLI

Tony’s Di Napoli one of New York City's original family-style Italian restaurants, has become an iconic institution, cherished by locals and tourists alike for over three decades. Founded in 1990 by partners Herb of Wetson's Hamburgers fame, and his son Greg Wetanson, Tony’s Di Napoli is a staple in both Times Square and the Upper East Side.

Over the years, Tony’s Di Napoli has delighted countless guests with their authentic Italian red sauce recipes, warm hospitality, and the unmistakable flavors. Beginning on the Upper East Side in 1990 as a passion project between partners Herb Wetanson--of Wetson's Hamburgers-- and his son Greg Wetanson, Tony’s DiNapoli was loosely inspired by their family’s go-to Italian restaurant Don Peppe’s in Ozone Park, Queens. The duo set out to offer an elegant yet value-oriented take on the classic family-style Italian menu in a large setting fueled by their competitive spirit and confidence with cooking the specific niche cuisine.

In 2002, the Wetanson family expanded to the Theater District in Midtown Manhattan, taking over the historic space that once housed the iconic Rosoff's Restaurant on West 43rd Street. Embracing the Broadway spirit of the neighborhood, Tony's Di Napoli decorated its walls with oil-painted caricatures, creating what is now one of Broadway's most incredible walls of fame.
